NLB’s Gale eBooks collection feature Malay language titles, and Singapore and South East Asia related topics and titles. Noteworthy eBook collections also include The Papers Of Lee Kuan Yew (19 volumes), National Day Rally Speeches and more.

  9. HistorySG

    HistorySG is an online resource guide to events that have unfolded in Singapore's history since 1299 to the present. Each event is briefly introduced in a short write-up accompanied by links to related content from the collections of the National Library Board (NLB) as well as that of other agencies and institutions.

    This edatabase has been replaced with National Library Online with effect from 4 Oct 2023. Available at all libraries and from home.


  10. HyRead is a Chinese eBooks and eMagazines platform offering mainly titles published in Taiwan. It also includes Chinese publications from Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Malaysia. The content includes Fiction, Literature, Humanities, Business, Comics, etc. Users can access the eBooks and eMagazines via PC, or through the HyRead 3 mobile app which is available from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 平台主要提供台湾的中文电子书与电子杂志,但也包括了来自香港﹑中国大陆﹑新马等地的中文出版品。内容种类包括文学小说﹑人文﹑商业、漫画等。可供网上阅读或下载到个人电脑及移动装置。

  11. Infobase Learning Cloud offers bite-size, on-demand learning modules that help students, educators, and professionals build skills in the classroom, at work and in life.

    Accessibility features for Infobase Learning Cloud include partial compatibility with screen readers (e.g. missing labels in some parts), synchronized closed captioning for videos, interactive transcripts, keyboard navigation, and colour contrast between the font and background. Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality and intuitive navigation throughout the course and the platform. For more information, please click here.

  12. JSTOR provides online access to archived contents of important scholarly journals, mainly in the humanities and social sciences. Researchers are able to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of back issues of journals and pages as they were originally printed. Existing titles are updated and new titles are added on an ongoing basis.

    Accessibility features for JSTOR include adjustable text size, font and spacing, colour contrast, keyboard navigation and shortcuts, zooming, screen reader support, navigation heading labels, alternative text for images and link destination labels.   13. Kanopy General Collection

    Kanopy General Collection offers a wide range of full-length movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos. The video content available on this platform is rated PG13 and below.

    For first time users:
    Step 1) Key in myLibrary username under “LIBRARY CARD NUMBER” and myLibrary password under “LIBRARY CARD PIN/PASSWORD”.
    Step 2) Create your Kanopy account using email and password, or sign up with your Google/Apple account.
    Step 3) If you are a mobile user, please download the Kanopy app. Refer to the Step-by-Step guide for mobile access here.
    For subsequent logins, you may use your Kanopy/Google/Apple account to directly access Kanopy General Collection.

    You will be leaving the National Library Board’s site if you choose to access the content under Kanopy. Please be informed that Kanopy’s site requires you to create an account with them by providing an email address (Note: This need not be the same email address you have provided to NLB for purposes of your NLB membership). You will also need to create a password.

    Please note that Kanopy requires the person setting up the account to be at least 18 years of age. Parents or legal guardians of those below the age of 18 years are to set up the Kanopy account that their child/ward will use to access the Kanopy platform. A parental control pin can be enabled.     You have to make your own decision whether you wish to create such an account with Kanopy under their Terms of Service. The National Library Board may receive feedback from you on this eResource but is not legally responsible for any disputes you may have with Kanopy.


  14. Kanopy Kids

    Kanopy Kids is Kanopy's curated collection of streaming video content for children. The video content available on this platform is rated PG13 and below.

    LawNet, a service provided by the Singapore Academy of Law, caters to the research and legal information needs of the global legal community. Since its inception in 1988 as a dial up network access provider, LawNet has grown in leaps and bounds, adding information, applications and databases to suit the evolving needs of legal practitioners, corporate counsel, paralegals, law academics and law students. Legal Research, a module within LawNet, is an integrated environment that allows you to search different types of legal content and multiple sources at a single go.

    Limited to 1 user access only. Available at Lee Kong Chian Reference Library only.


  16. LinkedIn Learning

    LinkedIn Learning is a leading online learning platform that helps users learn business, software, technology, creative design and other skills to achieve personal and professional goals. It has a content library of more than 21,000 courses taught by over 2,900 industry experts with real-world experience. Every instructor is vetted based on criteria such as their deep, practical knowledge, credibility and credentials.

  17. MusicSG

    MusicSG is a non-profit digital archive set up to digitise, archive and provide access to all forms of published Singapore musical works. It assembles a collection of music composed or published by Singaporeans, music produced or published in Singapore, and music related to Singapore. Resources featured are based on collections (e.g. by composers and items related to places in Singapore) and composers. They can be also browsed by genres which include the following Campaign Music, Chinese Classical, Computer Music, Films/TV/Musicals, Folk, Hip Hop/Rap, Indian, Jazz, Malay, National Music, Pop, Religious Music, Rock/Metal, Trance/Techno, Western Classical.

    This edatabase has been replaced with National Library Online with effect from 4 Oct 2023. Available at all libraries and from home.


  18. National Library online

    National Library Online will consolidate and integrate the National Library's digital collection (BookSG, MusicSG, NORA, PictureSG, Infopedia and HistorySG) to allow for a more seamless search for resources across formats. With the single point of entry, contents will be easily search and access which will be categorised by their respective formats , e.g. articles, books and magazines, documents and manuscripts, images as well as audio and video recordings.

  19. National Online Repository of the Arts (NORA)

    NORA is a database showcasing over 400 digitised works in the literary, performing and visual arts by prominent Singapore artists. As a source of reference for those interested in Singapore arts, NORA aims to digitally preserve Singapore’s arts heritage and create awareness about Singapore’s arts and culture.

    This edatabase has been replaced with National Library Online with effect from 4 Oct 2023. Available at all libraries and from home.


  20. Classical music recordings for on-demand streaming, with supplementary material such as album covers, liner notes, inlay card, biographies of composers and artists, curated playlists, educational resources such as Study Guides, interactive music dictionary etc. For access with the NML mobile app, please refer to the installation guide.
