Cantonment School at Cantonment Road, between 1976 and 1982

Description

This is a side view of the three-storey building of Cantonment School at Cantonment Road in Tanjong Pagar. At the far left is the 25-storey residential flats at Spottiswoode Park Estate. The primary school was established in 1954. In January 1984, it merged with its neighbouring, Keppel School to form Keppel Primary School (closed down in November 1996). Past principal of Cantonment School include Mrs. Seow Peck Leng (1954-1958). Past principal of Keppel Primary School include Mr. Tsoi Wing Yip (1984); and Mr. Ngui Fook Lim (1987-1996). Later, the school building became offices of Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (Mar 1998-Mar 2004). A new Cantonment Primary School at 1, Cantonment Close was established on 1 January 2011, with Madam Wong Mei Foong (黄美凤) as Principal. Title devised by Library staff.
