This is a head-and-shoulders portrait of Miss Mae Noleen Oehlers, student, teacher (1949) and later Principal of Raffles Girls' School from November 1957 to 1961. She was Principal of Cedar Girls' Secondary School (1957). Her older brother, Sir George Oehlers [George Edward Noel Oehlers], was the first elected Speaker of Legislative Assembly of Singapore from 1955 to 1963. Title devised by Library staff.
