School song of MacRitchie Primary School with lyric by Mrs. A.H. Yap [Yap Ah Hian](Principal of Dorset School, 1971-1978), and music by Miss Ng Chiau Kong (an inspector of music). The school started functioning at Lorong 8 Toa Payoh in January 1976 with majority of pupils from Whitley Primary School (closed down in Dec 1975) and Nam Ann Primary School (closed down in 1975). It was declared open by Mr. Eric Cheong Yuen Chee, Member of Parliament for Toa Payoh, on 8 March 1977. The school was closed down in 1996. Past principals include Mr. Chew Gout Cheng (Jan 1976-Jul 1984); Mr. Goh Tiak Hee (Jan 1985-1986); and Mr. R. Sachidanandan (1995).
