Description
This picture depicts the façade of the renaissance style The Europe Hotel (formerly known as "Grand Hotel de l'Europe") facing the Esplanade. It was closed in October 1932 to make way for a block of service flats in 1934. In 1938, the flats were replaced by the Supreme Court building, which was declared open by Sir Shenton Thomas, Singapore's Governor, on 3 August 1939. Title devised by Library staff.
