Description
This is a head-and-shoulder portrait of Colonel Neo Kian Hong, Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Operations) in 2001. He joined the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in March 1983 and was awarded the SAF Overseas Scholarship in 1984. He was promoted from Colonel to the rank of Brigadier-General and subsequently Major-General in June 2003 and June 2007 respectively. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Military)(Silver) in 2001, Public Administration Medal (Military)(Silver)(Bar) in 2003, and Public Administration Medal (Military)(Gold) in 2007. In the Singapore Armed Forces, he served as Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Singapore Guards (1995); Commander of the 7th Singapore Infantry Brigade; Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Personnel); Commander of the 9th Singapore Division (2003); Commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Command; Chief of Staff-Joint Staff (2006-2007); and Chief of Army (Mar 2007-to date). He was also Member of the Singapore Sports Council (Oct 2004-2008). Title devised by Library staff.
