Description

The music score of the school song of Ghim Moh Primary School, with lyrics by Mr. Chew Peng Soon and music by Mr. Yeow Chee Hong. The school was founded in January 1977 and officially declared open by Mr. Ho Kah Leong, Member of Parliament for Jurong, on 16 February 1979. On 31 December 2008, it merged with New Town Primary School (established in 1965) to form the new New Town Primary School (光道小学), functioning at 300, Tanglin Halt. The new premises was officially declared open by Mr. Lim Swee Say, Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, on 26 July 2010. Past Principals of Ghim Moh include Mr. Augustine Gwee Boh Yan (Jan 1977-1982); Mr. Yeo Khek Gim (1982-1987); Mr. N. Jayachandran (1993-1996); and Miss Pang Ong Choo (Dec 2008). The old premise at Ghim Moh Road became home to Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (2009-today).
