A handbook of Malay colloquial, as spoken in Singapore : being a series of introductory lessons for domestic and business purposes

The book contains a series of 60 introductory lessons in Malay mainly for the use of Europeans in the Straits Settlements for whom knowledge of the language is necessary to communicate with the local people in domestic and business situations. A vocabulary of 1900 commonly used words and phrases is included. Examples of usage patterns, grammar and other useful details related to the study of the language are also included.
