De Zieke Reiziger, or, Rambles in Java and the Straits in 1852

The author records for himself a visit to the Straits and the island of Java in 1852 and did not intend the publication of the narrative. He describes the various places he visited, the settlements of Singapore and Penang and those in Java such as Batavia, Bandong, Cheribon and Magelang. Details of the physical features, economic situations and social life and customs are included.
