This photograph shows two medical officers in Harbin during plague times. Both are in protective gowns that fully cover their bodies except their hands. The upper part of the face of the man on the left is exposed while the lower half is covered by a mask. The officer on the right has his face covered save for two holes for his eyes. Both are also wearing thick rubber boots. This was taken in 1911. Title devised by Library staff.
