A Singapore bungalow, 1860

This photograph shows the exterior of a partially-hidden colonial bungalow on a hillslope taken in 1860. The bungalow showcases early British architecture. It is a two-storey building with an airy verandah on the lower floor. On the upper floor, a striped awning is installed to provide shade. The slope is covered by trimmed grass. On the top of the slope, there is a row of trees whose foliage partially hides the view of the house. In the background is a glimpse of the roof of a nearby bungalow and tall trees in the area.
