This is a 1982 photograph of the exterior of two shophouses located at Spottiswoode Park Road. Spottiswoode Park Road, which is near the Tanjong Pagar area, is probably named after one of the partners of Spottiswoode & Co. They were William, Charles and Archibald Spottiswoode. One of the shophouse is two-storey high, while the other is three-storey, with recessed entrances. These buildings seem to belong to the Early Shophouse style, with two or three French wooden windows on the upper floors. A truck parked in front of one of the shophouses can be partially seen. A sheet of cloth is also stretched out on a frame off the doorway of the shop. Title devised by Library staff.
