A general view of the exterior of a single-storey house no. 321 East Coast Road (opposite Karikal Lane) is shown in this 1982 photograph. Built in Malay architectural style, the ground floor of the house is raised, and it has well-ventilated open verandah and crawl space underneath the house. It has casement windows and timber doors and a central feature is a stone staircase which leads from the ground to the raised floor of the house. The photographer's notes indicate that the owners are Chee Soon Keng and Lim Teck Lee, and the tenant has been L.M. Handy since 1927. Title devised by library staff.
