"This picture was taken at Whampoa Hawker Centre during the Circuit Breaker around April 2020. What captured my attention was this old school biscuit shop auntie. I'd always pass by her shop when I get my dinner at the hawker centre. She's always in the same sitting position and even during the pandemic period, she was still in the same sitting position except with her mask on. It just looked so surreal to me."--Contributed by David Lim Ming Chye, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call. This is a photograph of a traditional biscuit shop located at the hawker centre. The photograph was taken during the circuit breaker period. A lady manning the shop can be seen wearing a face mask while waiting for customers. Biscuits in large tins can be seen behind and by the sides of the lady. Additional description by Library staff.
