This is a photograph from 1977/1978 [photographer's notes], depicting Clarke Street (on the right leading to North Boat Quay). It shows a row of three-storey shophouses, with French windows on the upper floors. Clarke Street, now an expunged road, is named after Straits Settlements Governor Sir Andrew Clarke. Title devised by Library staff.
