This 1985 photograph shows Arab Street (from Victoria Street corner towards Rochor Canal Road). Arab Street is a reference to the Arab immigrants, who were given an area near the Sultan's compound at Kampong Glam, by Raffles. Today Arab Street is part of the Kampong Glam conservation area.
