This 1983 photograph shows North Boat Quay (between Read Bridge and Canning Lane), from Boat Quay. There are shophouses along the bank of the Singapore River and bumboats are docked at the quay. On the right, Read Bridge can be seen. Cars are parked on the road along the quay, also called North Boat Quay, which has now been turned into a pedestrian mall with the restoration and redevelopment of Clarke Quay in the 1990s. Title devised by Library staff.
