This 1982 photograph depicts Lorong 31 Geylang, towards Geylang Road. It shows a street with shophouses on both sides, and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
