"THANK YOU NUHEROES. The Emergency Medicine Department (EMD) at the National University Hospital (NUH) is the hospital’s first line of defence in the battle against COVID-19. During this period, the number of patients with fever and respiratory illnesses at EMD increased tremendously, with some taking a few hours to evaluate depending on the complexity of the condition. However, NUH’s clinical, nursing, allied health and ancillary teams stationed there are unfazed. For most of their 8-to-12-hour shifts, they wear full personal protective equipment (PPE) while seeing patients. Despite the discomfort and fatigue, the team at NUH EMD still dedicated themselves to evaluate patients safely and thoroughly."--Contributed by National University Hospital, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call.
