This 1992 photograph shows Lorong 3 Geylang, towards Geylang Road. It shows a one-way street with rows of two-storey shophouses on the left of the photograph. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
