This 1992 photograph depicts Lorong 31 Geylang, at Geylang Road junction. It shows a one-way street with shophouses on both sides, and roadside parking lots. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
