This 1982 photograph shows Middle Road, at Selegie Road junction (from Wilkie Road). It shows a view of the street with the David Elias Building on the left, and shophouses on the right. Middle Road is named because it formerly served as a demarcation line which separated the civic area from the ethnic settlements of Singapore. Title devised by Library staff.
