Seletar East Camp during COVID-19 pandemic

"THANK YOU NUHEROES. Singapore reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on 23 January 2020. In response, the National University Hospital (NUH) ramped up its efforts to support our nation’s battle against COVID-19. In addition to ensuring the hospital continues running smoothly while responding to the rapidly developing global situation, over 500 staff from NUH went above and beyond by stepping forward to volunteer to care for migrant workers at the dormitories and a community care facility. SELETAR EAST CAMP As part of the national effort to stem the spread of COVID-19 in the dormitories, healthy migrant workers were moved into unused Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) camps. Seletar East Camp was one of these camps. Working closely with the SAF, #TeamNUH quickly operationalised a medical post in this camp in May 2020 within 72 hours. The team also carried out swabbing and serology work there. The team ceased operations at the camp on 8 July 2020."--Contributed by National University Hospital, as part of the "Documenting COVID-19 in Singapore" collection community call.
