A 1982 photograph depicting River Valley Road, taken from the corner of Mohamed Sultan Road facing towards Tank Road. As its name describes, River Valley Road winds its way up the northern side of the valley formed by the Singapore River. There are rows of two and three-storey shop houses on both sides of the road.
