This 1969 photograph shows intricate wood carvings depicting a Chinese figurative scene. It is featured on an ancestral shrine (kum), seen in the Wee family (descendants of 19th century shopping tycoon Wee Bin) residence. Such shrines usually contains the ancestral tablets of the family.
