This 1992 photograph depicts Geylang Road (from Lorong 40 Geylang eastwards). It shows a view of a street lined with shophouses and roadside parking lots. A rise-high building can be seen to the left of the photograph. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
