This 2010 photograph shows the palette of paints of a painter who is restoring the statues in Haw Par Villa. All the restoration work was once done by Mr Teoh Veoh Seng, who is now in his 70s. He has a helper who does the base coat on the statue and he will finish the final detailing. Mr Teoh has been painting the statues since he was 13. He once lived within the grounds of the villa, until he moved to a HDB (Housing and Development Board) apartment block in 1991. Title devised by Library staff.
