Reproduction Available:

This 1992 photograph shows a panoramic view of the Kallang River at Geylang Bahru, as seen from the gate of the Lee Rubber warehouse. A block of flats and several low-rise dwellings can be seen on either side of the river. Kallang River, which flows from Peirce Reservoir, is Singapore's longest river. The river is named after the original inhabitants of Singapore, the Biduanda Orang Kallang, who lived in the swamps at the mouth of the river. Title devised by Library staff.
