This 1995 photograph shows Alexandra Road (towards the junction of Alexandra Road, Commonwealth Avenue and Leng Kee Road). The railway tracks for the Mass Rapid Transit (M.R.T.) trains that run between Redhill and Queenstown stations can be seen in the background. Laid out in 1864, Alexandra Road was named after Queen Alexandra (1844 - 1925), consort of King Edward VII. Title devised by Library staff.
