This 1992 photograph shows Lorong 38 Geylang, from Geylang Road corner. It shows a view of a shaded street with low-rise buildings on both sides. Several vehicles can be seen parked along the road. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
