A young Caucasian on a paved seafront at the Pagar, 1952

This photograph shows a Caucasian guy placing his hands on a coconut tree on a paved seafront at the Pagar. The Pagar is a fenced-in swimming area next to the Changi Yacht Club, and is also known as the Pagar Beach by British servicemen in Singapore. It was among the facilities developed to serve the RAF officers and their families. The photograph also presents a panoramic view of the sea that captures moored boats and the hills beyond. This photograph was developed by the photographer on 10 November 1952. Title devised by Library staff.
