This 1966 photograph shows a house on Java Road, in the historic Kampong Glam area. The windows on the lower floor are fixed with iron security bars. Java Road was known for its masonry workshops, however, it is no longer listed in the street directory. Today, a new Java Road which was constructed in the mid-1990s allows access to Nicoll Highway from Beach Road. Title devised by Library staff.
