A 1982 photograph depicting Cumming Street with a godown at the corner of Solomon Street. Solomon Street was named after the founder of Solomon Henry & Co firm, Abraham Solomon, "a noble Jew of the Biblical type" who stayed in the middle of Boat Quay. Cumming Street was named after Dr. James B. Cumming, secretary, treasurer and Worshipful Master of the Masonic Zetland Lodge when it was first established in Singapore in 1845. Title devised by Library staff.
