This 1992 photograph shows the front view of a two-storey terrace house, no. 38 Sussex Estate at Horsham Road. The house sits amidst green open spaces. A stone footpath winds across the grass patch and leads to the house. The doorway of the house is shown, with the windows on both the ground and upper levels. Sussex Estate is named after the historic county of Sussex in England. The estate was developed in the mid-1950s to house the families of British senior non-commissioned officers. In 1975 when Clementi was being developed, Sussex Estate was the only pre-development feature that was retained, but was demolished later in 1997. The area where Clementi Avenue 1 is, used to be Sussex Estate. Title devised by Library staff.
