This is a photograph of a street vendor, sitting by a pillar outside a coffee shop, in Havelock Road. The Chinese words on the pillar depicts sale of western tea in the coffee shop. Havelock Road was also known as 'Kong Chioh Koi' in Hokkien meaning 'stone-breaking street'. Stone breaking works for paving the roads were carried out in this vicinity.
