Son of owner of Hiap Chuan Joo sawmill with four Asian business associates

Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in the 1950s this photograph shows Ng Siew Hoo, second son of the owner of the sawmill factory with four Asian business associates at the factory. Ng is in the centre. The words "Malaysan Timbers" can be seen in the background. Title devised by Library staff.
