This is a 1982 photograph showing Havelock Road, with a view of the Singapore River, from the rear of the godowns. Havelock Road was named after General Sir Henry Havelock (1795 - 1857), a hero of the Indian Mutiny who fought in the Afghan and Sikh wars. Title devised by Library staff.
