This 1967 photograph shows a house on Java Road, in the historic Kampong Glam area. The windows are fixed with old-style iron security bars. Java Road was known for its masonry workshops, however, it is no longer listed in the street directory. Today, a new Java Road which was constructed in the mid-1990s allows access to Nicoll Highway from Beach Road. Title devised by Library staff.
