This 1967 photograph depicts a row of shophouses on Cecil Street. Clothes are hanging outside the windows on bamboo poles. Cecil Street was named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith who was the Governor of the Straits Settlements and High Commissioner from 1887 to 1893. Title devised by Library staff.
