This 1986 photograph shows the building, Soon Chong Leong at Bencoolen Street corner, at Bras Basah Road. Bencoolen Street is named after the British colony of Bencoolen in Sumatra, of which Sir Stamford Raffles was Lieutenant Governor. Title devised by Library staff.
