Hiap Chuan Joo was one of the largest sawmill factories in Singapore. Located at Balestier it produced wooden crates used for beverages including Coca-Cola and Tiger Beer. Taken in the 1950s this photograph shows workers unloading crates. A worker on a lorry is tossing a crate to another on a stack of crates on the ground. Title devised by Library staff.
