This is a group photograph of the hosts and visitors at the laying of foundation stone of Perak Library in 1952. All are male except for one lady in a dark dress. Dr. Wu Lien-teh, a Penang-born physician, is fourth from the left in the first row. Dr. Wu and a few other gentlemen are holding closed umbrellas made of wax paper. Title devised by Library staff.
