This 1969 photograph shows land reclamation in progress on the beach near Tanjong Rhu, in the vicinity of Amber Road. This stretch of land is now part of the East Coast Park (Chinese: 东海岸公园; Malay: Taman Pantai Timur) The reclamation was completed in the 1970s and it extends from Tanjong Rhu to Katong.
