This 1982 photograph depicts Geylang Road (from Lorong 16 Geylang on the right, towards the east). It shows a view of a street with a low-rise building to the left and an overhead pedestrian bridge in the background. Geylang is believed to be a corruption of the term "kilang", Malay for factory, from the coconut and lemongrass processing factories of the area. Title devised by Library staff.
