Raffles Institution, field, 1969 : general view [4]

This 1969 photograph shows the school field of Raffles Institution (RI). Known previously as the Singapore Institution, the location of RI is where the Raffles City mall now stands. The school was founded by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1823. Featuring prominently in the background is the steeple of St Andrew's Cathedral, which was named after St. Andrew, a patron saint of Scotland. Title devised by Library staff.
