This 1993 photograph shows Pekin Street, from a junction at Telok Ayer Street, with a view of two-storey shophouses. Pekin Street is part of the Chinatown conservation area and is now incorporated into an extensive pedestrian mall. It is also considered to be the oldest street found in Chinatown.
