This 1985 photograph shows Pagoda Street, towards South Bridge Road, from Trengganu Street junction. Rows of shophouses line both sides of the street. Pagoda Street is named after the elaborate carved structure, the gopuram, over the main gate of the Sri Mariamman Temple. Title devised by Library staff.
