This 1982 photograph shows Tanjong Pagar Road, towards Cook Street from opposite Metropole Cinema. It shows a view of a street with shophouses and roadside parking lots along both sides of the road. In the right foreground can be seen a bus bay where the bus stop is. Tanjong Pagar means "cape of stakes" in Malay, and the road is probably named for the kelongs found in the sea near the area. Title devised by Library staff.
