Parliament House with Elephant Statue (gift from Thai King Chulalongkorn to commemorate his 1871 visit) in foregound -
Elephant statue presented by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) of Siam to commemorate his 1871 visit to Singapore, the first by a Thai monarch. The statue was erected outside Victoria Memorial Hall in 1892 before it was moved to outside the Court House in 1919. -
