This is a 1991 photograph showing Mr and Mrs Loh Hong Chew, owners of house no. 84, at Kampong Amber. Kampong (village) Amber does not exist today. It was once a Malay fisherman village located between East Coast Road and Amber Road. With the phasing out of kampongs in the 1970s and 1980s, Kampong Amber also disappeared. High-rise flats were built on this site years later. Title devised by Library staff.
